Some enthusiasts are wondering why Mercedes is already redesigning C-Class, cause new generation was released no so long ago. Well, the truth is there isn’t that much that 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will have different compared to the previous model. We can see that first hand since the testing mule was caught right outside of headquarters in Stuttgart. C-class is one of the stronger points since it’s one of the best selling vehicles of this German carmaker, so what will new model bring to the market that we already didn’t saw?
2018 Mercedes-Benz C-class – Front fascia
There was no camouflage at all and the point is that Mercedes has nothing new on the model so it should’ve hidden it from prying eyes. There are usual visual updates on the vehicle as would any other manufacturer keep their focus on. The front fascia has little changes and the main thing is slightly redesigned headlights and bumper. While in the back, yes, you guess it, redesigned taillights and bumper. In other words, nothing new and unusual can be seen on 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
2018 Mercedes-Benz C-class – Interior
On the other hand, there are some novelties in the interior of the cabin. The main thing that has changed in 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is the dashboard. It is completely taken from new S-Class and it consists of wide large TFT display in two segments with no instrument panel between. The only difference is that left display is slightly pushed towards the interior. This feature, however, will be present in only fully loaded models. Other than that on steering wheel there is a new layout of buttons with “master” button found on each side. On physical instrument cluster, there can no longer be found controls for the climate control. The thing is that this will be operated with a button that controls a three-level heating. Is that even a good idea? Who knows?
2018 Mercedes-Benz C-class – Under the hood
As part from slightly redesigned exterior and interior, there are no new units that will power 2018 Mercedes-Benz C-Class by the info available so far. So a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 241 horsepower and 229 lb-ft will be under the hood of the new model. Via seven-speed automatic transmission power is sent to rear wheels. If you don’t fancy rear wheel drive for a little extra cost you could have Mercedes 4Matic system that will send power to all four wheels.
2018 Mercedes-Benz C-class – Release date & Price
That is all the info that is now available and we can come to end with speculated release date. Since it is 2018 model, we can only conclude that will be presented somewhere in 2017. And it’s just too early to talk about the price, but since there are not many innovations, we can’t expect that it will go much higher than the current model.
