If you’re familiar with that kind of vehicle, then 2018 GMC Terrain is the right solution for you. In the first line, it’s replacement for the ex-Pontiac Torrent model. Everybody knows that Pontiac lineup dropped with the above-mentioned brand. Still, this vehicle has born and continues to make a great success. What should you first know about new Terrain? The whole body is underpinning on highly-modular D2XX platform. It’s typical for a compact vehicle and it’s more rigid. Further, new Terrain comes with less weight for 200 pounds in comparison with the previous version. The combination of lightweight materials with high-strength steels contribute to the firmer body for 27 percent.
The exterior design will be nicer thanks to the new design language. We think that carmaker did a survey about that what customers want in the future. As a consequence, the designers introduce masculine look and aerodynamic elements. Rest of body elements reminds us on typical GMC style.
2018 GMC Terrain – Ecotec Engines
The new specification includes two options for selection such as standard option while people who like better performances have the up-level option at disposal. In both cases, we talk about four-cylinder engines which promote efficiency, especially in fuel-saving. The standard engine is all-new turbo 1.4L Ecotec I-4 LE2. At this moment, we still don’t know information about performances, but they are coming very soon. Only known detail is the rate of fuel consumption which amounts 40 mpg on the motorway. The standard engine is in integration with six-speed automatic 6TXX transmission. It sends power to all four wheels.
The second option is turbo 2.0L Ecotec I4 LTG engine. It is not necessary to mention that is an new version comes with DOHC technology and produces more horsepower and torque, unlike standard engine. It is in connection with eight-speed automatic 8TXX transmission.
